The Care Journal is a feature that provides a HIPAA-compliant electronic record of the care provided by other members of a client’s caregiving team. It replaces the need for a physical notebook or other communication tools in a client’s home that may be less secure/compliant.
The Care Journal allows caregivers the ability to view previous care notes for a client that they are actively providing services to in the Rosemark Caregiver App (RCA).
The care notes that are visible to the caregiver include:
- previously recorded tasks
- comments, agency notes
- voice recordings
A caregiver can only view the Care Journal while they are clocked in for a client’s shift.
To enable this feature, contact Rosemark support. A Rosemark Customer Success specialist will discuss the additional preferences that may be customized, like changing the display name of the Care Journal, the number of shifts that the Care Journal displays (the default is 7 shifts), and more.
Note: This feature is not available for Facilities/members.
Below is an example of what it will look like once the agency has asked Customer Success to enable this feature.
Once a caregiver has logged into the RCA and clocked in for their shift, they will be able view the Care Journal for their client.
When the caregiver clicks on the Care Journal, it will display up to the set number of historical shifts, typically seven (7).
By clicking on the card for a previous shift, the caregiver can view the details of the previous shift’s record. The caregiver can view who worked the shift, what tasks were completed or not completed, as well as the comments left on the task. If allowed, the caregiver will also be able to listen to the voice recordings left by the previous shift’s caregiver.
Another valuable feature of the Care Journal is that it allows the caregiver to search for specific tasks.
For example, if the caregiver wanted to know the last time this client had “errands” completed, they would simply type “errands” in the search bar. The Care Journal would then display the results for that task.
